I had so much fun with this precious mama. Candice was so joyful at her session and threw caution to the wind in the outfits we chose for her maternity session. I love that Candice shared a bit about her fertility journey with me. When my clients trust me enough to let me capture their precious moments and share their lives with me, I feel so honored. The journey to motherhood can be so varied. But, Candice and her husband had to work so hard to bring this precious little bundle into the world. And, I couldn't be happier for them! I was recently contacted by a proud auntie telling me all about her new nephew, how special he was, and that she wanted to gift his parents with a newborn session. Several days later, I got to meet the cutest brand new baby boy at my Mommy's First Peek studio in Norco, CA. Say, "Hello!" to Achilles! He was so excited to meet his mama and daddy that he was born five weeks early. At our newborn session, he was eighteen days old, but hadn't even reached his due date. After we finished his solo baby photography session, mama decided to add some family shots. We met up again the next week and I'm so glad we did. Little Achilles modeled for two photo shoots before he was supposed to be born. If he's this accomplished now, I can't wait to see what he does in the future. Thank you Jennifer & Anthony for allowing me to photograph (and snuggle) little Achilles...twice! Getting to see this little guy a week apart was so much fun. (Babies grow and change so quickly. It made me want to do so many more milestone sessions and capture all of those moments.) Contact Me to schedule your session today.
You may not know this about me, but 11 years ago I lost my son, Jason, to cancer. This month I held a charity event in his memory. This was my first Annual (hopefully!!) Pay What You Can Minisession Event, raising awareness and funds for childhood cancer. All proceeds went to benefit two of my favorite local charities, Loma Linda University Children's Hospital and Childhood Cancer Foundation of Southern California. Thanks to the generous support of donors, clients, family, and friends we were able to raise over $1,300. That's not even including the donations made on behalf of families with a child actually fighting cancer. And, get this, I was able to hang out with and photograph so many sweet kiddos and teens who are currently fighting cancer. Some sessions made me cry because I know the struggle that these families are experiencing, as well as how precious these memories will be for them. Other sessions made me smile. It's amazing how positive kids can be! Never heard of a Pay What You Can Minisession? It's simple! Schedule your minisession, make any donation, and receive a 20 minute photography session and 5 digital images. If you missed out on this event, make sure to mark your calendar for the same time next year. I'm hoping we'll be able to photograph even more families at next year's event. Take a look at some of the fierce, adorable, heartwarming, and fun images of these kiddos. This is the face of childhood cancer. It is beautiful! Contact Me to schedule your session.

All I can say about this mama-to-be is that her maternity session was swoon-worthy. She looked stunning in every location and outfit. Pregnancy looks good on her, and I feel that she is truly glowing with it. We know that's not true for all pregnant women. At least many of us don't feel that way! Personally, I know that I struggled through most of my last pregnancy, feeling tired and big-bellied for most of it. So many women, myself included, struggle with the picture in our mind of what our body should look like. I feel like that's the reason expectant mamas search for the right maternity photographer. They want someone who can make them look and feel beautiful. As a photographer, it's my job to do this at all photography sessions. Despite her concerns, this mama just made my job a little easier. We met Erin and her husband, Brent, at Fairmount Park in Riverside. I love photographing my maternity clients among the huge trees, open fields, and quaint little lake. And the gowns that she chose to wear are some of my favorites. (I add more gowns to my maternity closet all the time.) These fit and flare styles look amazing on the curves of a pregnant mama. Don't you agree? When we ran out of light I got to capture this gorgeous silhouette. Gah!! Gorgeous maternity gowns by Chicaboo. Contact Me to book your session.

This gorgeous expectant mama, with baby number four on board, and her family met me at Fairmount Park in Riverside for her maternity photography session. (I do all of my maternity sessions at outdoor locations using natural light. A small copse of trees or spurts of wildflowers can be transformed into a gorgeous image, with a pregnant mama and my photographer's eye. I love finding new locations to use with my expectant mamas and families!) She chose a lovely ruby colored gown to use during her session and totally rocked it. Don't you think? I met this mama and her middle son last year when I photographed the annual calendar for Childhood Cancer Foundation of Southern California. CCF shared the adorable calendar images here. Many of you may not know this, but this mama and I have something in common. Our little boys were both diagnosed with a form of childhood cancer. Her son, Nathan, is still fighting. Despite his struggles with childhood cancer he is just a boy. At our session (even during treatment) he was so happy...full of life and energy. All three of her boys, including little Nathan, were so full of personality. Her youngest son was not really interested in smiling for pictures, but he was more than happy to be talked into it by his parents. (I believe a $5 bill changed hands during the session. I love when parents are not above a little harmless coercion.) I hope that her next little one, also a boy, will bring as much joy and craziness to their home. Gorgeous red dress by Chicaboo.
