Can you tell me what to expect during a portrait session?
Newborn:
The ideal time to photograph a newborn is before 14 days old. They are more sleepy and easily posed during this period. Newborn sessions typically last approximately 1-2 hours. {Petite Newborn ~1 hr; Premium & Deluxe Newborn ~2 hrs} We have everything you need for your session, from props to outfits. It is ideal to keep baby awake prior to your session. You'll want to feed your baby when I arrive at your home. This way, baby will have a full belly and be nice and sleepy.
Maternity:
We recommend you schedule your maternity session between 32 and 36 weeks gestation. Reach out to us before the end of your second trimester to book! A maternity session typically takes about an hour at an outdoor location. We have some gorgeous maternity gowns available for you to use. Please let us know if you are interested in learning more about our maternity gown availability.
Family:
Family sessions are now offered throughout the year, with family mini sessions taking place in the fall. These sessions typically last about an hour (unless you've scheduled a petite session) and are photographed outdoors. Ask us about our favorite outdoor locations in the Inland Empire! We are happy to discuss clothing choices with you. We encourage simple, classic clothing. Solids are an excellent choice, and it’s best to avoid clothing with words or brand names on them, as they tend to distract from the beauty of your portraits. Dressing everyone in clothes that compliment each other looks more natural, rather than dressing everyone in the exact same color. Parents, siblings, and grandparents are always welcome!

As a new parent, the safety of my little one is important to me. Do you have training in this area?
Yes! The safety of your newborn is so important to me. I have completed several workshops in the area of newborn photography, including safe posing, handling, and wrapping of babies. I try to have an assistant present at all newborn sessions to help ensure the safety of your little one.
When will my images be ready to view?
You will have the opportunity to view session proofs, via online gallery, approximately one week after your session.
Do you need a little extra help making your ordering decisions? I am also available to meet with you for a live virtual or in-person ordering appointment. Ordering sessions are available upon request and held by appointment only. Just reach out!

After placing my order, how long will it take my products to come in?
Products are expected to arrive approximately 3 weeks after you have placed your order. Keep in mind that no products are ordered until the full payment has been received.
Albums, collage canvases, and photo cards will not be ordered until the design has been approved. As a result, these items may take longer to arrive.

Why do you recommend ordering products, such as wall art and albums, rather than digital files alone?
Like you, I have had family photos taken and didn’t really know what to do with them. They were shared on social media, then sat on my computer. Eventually, I would print a few gift prints for family as our annual Christmas gift. But I never had many photos hanging on my own walls. I know that I, as a busy parent, always intended to display the beautiful images of my family. However, I forgot or waited too long.
A little over ten years ago, I lost my son to cancer. He was 4 years old. Without him here, all I have left are photographs, videos, and my own memories. What happened to those pictures on my phone or computer? You guessed it! They're gone because that technology is now obsolete. I am so thankful for the photographs that I did print (even as 4x6s at the local photo lab) because I still have those. I often sit and look through them and have them hanging on my walls. In my home, I don't decorate. I display memories. That's what printed pictures are...memories. Every time I see the picture of my son wearing his Halloween costume or giving me his sideways smile, I remember. I look at a picture of my preschooler's first toothy smile and I remember.
I encourage my clients to print their pictures (no matter what size) so that they can remember these precious moments that pass so quickly. Pregnancy, birth, and the newborn stage are moments to be remembered. I LOVE providing my clients with the opportunity to print portraits to display in their homes. I love helping them to remember!
