Mini maternity sessions are only offered when booked with a newborn photography session.
When to Schedule Your Session.
We recommend scheduling your maternity session during the third trimester, between 32 and 36 weeks. The idea is to come when you are comfortable and have a nice round belly.
To ensure that we are able to photograph you during your pregnancy, make a note to contact us during the second trimester of your pregnancy.
The Day of Your Maternity Session.
Before the session, remember to eat and drink plenty of fluids. Plan to relax and enjoy your session. We will work to capture your uniquely beautiful pregnancy physique.
We will discuss clothing and session style prior to the session. For the mama-to-be, a solid or floral maxi or fitted dress photograph beautifully. Expecting mamas should also wear a nude bra and thong. Family members should coordinate with the mama-to-be. For family outfits, choose similar colors, as well as avoid crazy prints and large logos. Feel free to send me your outfit choices prior to the session. Keep in mind that we offer maternity gowns, wraps, and other necessities.
- Plan to bring along water and, maybe, a snack. It's often hot out and mamas frequently forget to hydrate.
- Bring along comfortable shoes for walking. If you want to wear fancy ones in the session, we can carry them and change before we start shooting. (However, mamas often find that shoes don't matter much in a long flowing gown.)
- We'll bring along a changing tent for mamas wearing a gown for the session, so that you can put on your dress once you arrive.
- If there are any props you'd like to incorporate into the session (e.g., ultrasound photo, sign, baby shoes), make sure to bring those along too.
